How to build your own Shopify store step by step process?

So if you have decided to build your first Shopify store and want to start from step by step process then you are on right place. In this guide we will show you how to build and launch your Shopify store.

Ready? Let’s start.

Step 1: The first step is to create your Shopify account. So go to Shopify site and click on “Start free trial” to get started.

Step 2: When you will click on “Start free trial” button then it will open up a pop-up like below screenshot where you need to enter email, password and store name. So you need to fill out these details and click on “Create your store”.

Step 3: When you will click on “Create your store” then it will start process of setting up your store like below.

Step 4: After setting up store process it will take you to a page where you need to give details about your selling and revenue process. You can skip this step if not needed. So you can click on “Skip” or “Next”.

Step 5: After setting up above you need to give details about address like below. So once you will fill out the details then click on “Enter my store” button.

Step 6: Once you will click on “Enter my store” button in previous step then you will be redirected in admin dashboard which will look like below screenshot. So now you are just 3 steps away to start your online store which are add a product, customize theme and domain process.

Step 7: Now click on “Add product” button and it will take you to a page where you can add your first product. It will look like below screenshot.

So from this page you can fill out product name, description, images, pricing, inventory and weight etc and click on “Save” button. Once clicking save it will show you that product is created. Now click on “Continue setting up your store” link.

Step 8: Now in next step you need to setup theme for your store.

Now click on “Customize theme” button and it will take you to a theme page where you can either start with default theme called “Debut” or can explore few free and paid themes plus you will have option to upload your custom theme.

We will go with “Explore free themes”, so click on button and it will give you some free theme options like below screenshot.

For example we will select “Supply” theme just to show you. So click on “Supply” theme and it will give 2 options Light and blue like below screenshot.

We will go with “Blue” option so select radio button in front of blue and click on “Add Supply”. Once clicked it will show you a message that theme is added.

Now you need to click on “Customize theme” button to setup the theme. So clicking on the button will take you to a page where you can setup themes for all pages.

So you can change slider image by clicking on “Slideshow” section.

Besides this, there are other various options available from which you can setup your product page, list page, header colors etc. So once done click on “Save” button on top right corner. And then click on “Publish” button which will show you a message pop-up like below.

So click on “Publish” button and proceed to next step, this will change the theme to Supply.

Step 9: Now the final step is to add your domain.

Clicking on “Add domain” will take you to a page like below, where you will get option to either buy a new domain or link to existing domain.

So if you will click on “Buy new domain” then you will get option to search and buy new domain like this.

And if you will click on “Connect existing domain” then you will get option like this.

So that’s it. You are done now.

Besides this if you don’t have domain right now and you want to setup all the things first then you can preview your store on Shopify domain. So to preview your domain click on eye icon in front of “Online store” and it will open your store in new tab.

The store URL will be hosted on Shopify so in our case its https://lucid-softechs-store.myshopify.com/ .

You can click on “Catalog” and you can see that the product that you have added will also appear on this page along with the details that you filled like this.

Clicking on product will take you to product detail page which will look like this.

Now the next step is to setting up payment methods. So go to settings bottom left and it will show you a page like this.

Now click on “Payment providers” and you will see a page like below.

Here you can setup payments as per need.

That’s it. You are good to go.
